The
April 2004 issue of France's reference "geography and
geopolitics journal" is dedicated to the geopolitics
of illicit drugs. With papers by P.-A.

Laniel (issue editors), and L. Astorga, P. Chassagne,
P. Gootenberg, A. Labrousse, D. Mansfield, G. Muti, L.

& That.
Statistiques :
Du 30 avril 2011 au 1er mai 2012, DrugSTRAT a
reçu 43 372 visiteurs journaliers
qui ont vu 68 592 pages (source : Weborama).
DrugSTRAT was
launched in February 2004. It is dedicated to the study
of Illegal Drugs from the point(s) of view
of Sociology, Geopolitics and Strategic
Studies. It focuses mostly on drug production
and trafficking and on the way(s) in
which the laws pertaining to these phenomena are enforced.
Drug consumption (or use) is examined only as it relates
to production or trafficking. The material available
here is by and large the product of the author's research
efforts in Africa, Europe, and The
Americas over the last 15 years or so.
Most
of the author's publishedPapers are
available for perusal and download. Papers by other people
may also be posted here. Starting in November 2004, DrugSTRAT also
makes available short works of Fiction in
an attempt to account more fully for the ways in which
drugs have impacted present-day societies, and especially
their cultural production. The "Book
of the month" page focuses on publications that
I think are worth buying, or at least reading. Additional
resources (will) include bibliographies, links to other
sites (e.g. online libraries), an Images page
with a selection of drug-related graphic resources (exhibitions and links),
and a more light-hearted area, This
& That, with whatever else I think would
be fun to post. Lastly,
and importantly, the material posted here may be in any
of the three languages that I work with: English, French,
and Spanish. The language of the site
is, as you've probably gathered by now, English.
Caveat
Emptor: This is a personal site, and
so it is inevitably marked by its author's subjectivity
and particular outlook on drugs and drug studies.
Statistics:
From April 30th, 2011 to May 1st, 2012, DrugSTRAT received 43,372 daily visitors who viewed a total

The June issue
of the Journal of the European association of libraries
and information services on alcohol and other drugs
(Elisad) contains the first ever review of DrugSTRAT,
and much more.
