Tumbaga poporo
Quimbaya, 0 - 600 AD

The poporo represents a seated high-ranking woman holding figures of matching birds in her hands and pendant plaques. Her huge shoulders, the bands on her legs, the well-defined lines of her face, are characteristic features of Quimbaya goldwork. Cremated bones have been found in similar containers.
